Last year you were taught a lot of basic skills. This year we are going to expand these skills and think more about themes and stories with our works. Boosting our imagination!
Again we will be using the BLT's to help us in the process.
Meet Auguste Rodin! I have chosen this artist because he was an artist who was able used different art materials, like painting, drawing and sculpting. He's most well known for his sculptures. Something we are going to do too this year. Rodin also liked to work from old stories or showcase certain themes and emotions with his work. This is also something we will practice more and more.
François Auguste René Rodin (12 November 1840 – 17 November 1917) was a French sculptor generally considered the founder of modern sculpture. He was schooled traditionally and took a craftsman-like approach to his work. Rodin possessed a unique ability to model a complex, turbulent, and deeply pocketed surface in clay. He is known for such sculptures as The Thinker, Monument to Balzac, The Kiss, The Burghers of Calais, and The Gates of Hell.
