This year your portfolio is going to be in graffiti style!
What are we going to learn?
to use inspirational pictures as inspiration for your own name in graffity letters
make your portfolio look as graffity-like as possible
how to place your name in the middle of the paper
jog our memory when it comes to applying transitions
Fold your a4 paper into 4 squares. In each square sketch your name in different types of graffiti letters that you find on the internet. You will colour them in with colouring pencils or with aquarell pencils.
Please remember that we are sketching! So it doesn't have to look perfect yet! Make two per lesson
Think about:
shape of letters (make sure they look like graffiti!)
the space between your letters
where you place the letters in the square (make sure that your name fits!)
colours and mixing colours
Challenge: add an extra (personal) decoration around your name to spice it up! Make sure it fits the style!
Challenge: think about shadows and if they could improve your work?
Choose your favourite 2 designs and on the back, draw these neatly and with detail.
Make sure to:
draw neatly and mix colours
take all the things from the "think about" list from last week into consideration!
Choose your favourite to recreate on the a3 paper that will be your portfolio!
Make sure to:
place your name neatly in the middel of your page
work with care
all the elements of your work fit together (harmonious composition)
Sketch 1a4:
you have drawn 4x your name in different graffity letters, showing you can come up with different creative options
you have added colours, showing you can try out different colours and choose colours that go together nicely
you have chosen your 2 favourites and created a more detailed sketch in which you have added colours and show you can mix colours
challenge: you have also added a suitable background or other decorative elements
Final drawing (portfolio) A3:
the letters of your name are drawn in graffiti letters.
you have thought about where you were going to place your letters on the portfolio (in the middel is in the middel).
you have coloured it in with (aquarel) pencils
you have created a harmonious composition in which all the elements together look good
you have worked carefully and neatly.
