Inquisitive: I am curious and I like to learn new things. I actively take part in lessons and activities
Risk-taking: I am willen to try new and different things. I am not afraid to make mistakes and I know I can learn from them.
Reflective: I am learning to understand what my strengths and points of development are. I am trying to grow and improve.
Knowledgable: I am learning new things and I can follow the lessons.
Open-minded: I am open to the world around me and interested in what is happening right now. I like to explore other cultures and learn about different people. I find respect important.
Before we can start designing, it's important to do some research. Google different cities and their architecture.
So search: "architecture + city name". For example: London/Paris/Milan/New York/Utrecht/ Hong Kong /Dubai /Shanghai /Johannesburg /Rome /Athens" etc.
Look up 3 different places (your choice which ones). Choose 5 pictures that inspire you and already place these in your hand in form (See magister study planner).
For the next step, together as a group decide which city you would like to represent whilst building your city. Decide who is going to recreate which building. You may remake actual buildings, however you can also you the buildings as inspiration to create a building yourself. You can for example take only certain aspects (shapes, colours, details, entrence etc.) of a building.
During the next two lessons you will each create one building and position them on "your land" of cardboard. How and where you place them on the cardboard is up to you. But make sure that the viewer can still recognise some of the cities landmarks.
Think back to our last cardboard project en remember ALLLLL the different ways that you could put cardboard together without glue! Or how we can cut cardboard easily. Use this knowledge and experience.
For this assignment you are allowed to use glue. However, think about whether you really need to use it!
